Confederate Ink Well Found in Virginia Barn Plus Brass Bayonet Candleholder

Lot includes Confederate ink well and candleholder.  The glass ink well is accompanied by an illustrated advertisement from the April 1928 edition of The Antiquarian, describing it as one of 72 found in an old barn loft in Virginia.  The aqua-colored glass is marked J. & I. E. M. around the base; 2.25 in. diameter, 2 in. high.   The brass candlestick holder is featured in Warman's Civil War Collectibles, 2nd Ed., 2006, p. 276, pictured fitting snuggly inside the socket of a .58 caliber bayonet, used for illuminating a tent or campsite.
