CDV of Confederate Major William T. Bradshaw

Price Realized: $881.25

Carte appears to be a period copy shot identified in ink on verso, no back mark. A rakish-looking officer, Bradshaw cradles his sword wearing a double-breasted frock coat with a single star on solid light colored collar. Cuffs are likewise a solid collar lacking the chicken guts called for in regulations. The officer is obviously Confederate, but no one named Major William (T.) Bradshaw could be found in any of the major sources including the O.R.’s, HDS, CWSS, Crute, Krick, Allardice or the cryptic List of Staff Officers of the CS Army compiled by J.M. Carroll.

Condition: CDV is near VG, trimmed at bottom with light wear.
