Lot of 6, including a flag relic, 2.75 x 6.5 in., and five Confederate States notes, denominations $5, $10, $20, $50, and $100, accompanied by a 1p letter on Office Chief Quarter-Master, 24th Army Corps letterhead, dated May 15, 1865, signed by A.B. Lawrence / Inf. 2nd M., 24th Army Corps and of the U.S. Forces at Appomattox, certifying that the fabric was cut from the flag which floated over the Rebel Capitol in this City, cut in pieces for distribution as a significant memento and that the notes were funds of the Confederate Army surrendered at Appomattox.
