.45 ACP. 5" barrel length. S/N 101631. Single-action semi-automatic pistol with removable 7-shot magazine, exposed long spur hammer, fixed notch and half moon sights, and a military lanyard ring. Blued metal finish with checkered double diamond walnut grips. Features checkering to long spur hammer, stepped thumb safety, magazine release, and slide lock. Has standard Colt manufacturer address and patent dates, and rampant Colt (to rear) marked to left of slide, with "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" and Col. Gilbert H. Stewart (GHS in circle) marks to left of frame. On right side of slide is the model name, and serial number is marked to frame. Item has an "HP" marked barrel, two-tone magazine, and all other parts coinciding with original WWI-era model 1911's. This specimen was produced sometime in 1914. Includes letter of provenance and a copy of the original purchase tag.
Condition:
Good to very good. Bore is bright and rifling is sharp. There is thinning to to slide and grips overall, and losses to finish near muzzle of slide, likely from holstering. There is a slight patina to front strap. Some light scratches overall. Wood grips are in great condition.
