**1918 Production "Brushed Blue" US Model 1911 Pistol by Colt
.45 ACP, 5" barrel, S/N 299148 (mfg. ca1918). Brushed blue finish, blued barrel, checkered double-diamond pattern walnut grips. Right side of slide marked MODEL OF 1911. U.S. ARMY with serial number on right side of frame. Left side of slide with two-line Colt patent date information and two line address, separated by the Rampant Colt logo. Lower left side of dust cover marked UNITED STATES PROPERTY. {Circle-JM} inspection on right of frame behind trigger. Barrel hood with P and H inspections, bottom of chamber marked 5. Long, smooth-faced trigger, checkered slide stop, wide checkered Colt hammer spur, smooth flat mainspring housing. Includes a single unmarked magazine with minute traces of blue.

Condition:
Fine. Retains much of the brushed blue finish with some thinning, minor loss and high edge wear. Barrel with less blue, showing the usual loss from wear at the contact points. Markings remain clear and crisp. Mechanically functional. Very good bore is moderately oxidized with some frosting and light pitting. Grips with some typical wear and handling marks.
