Belgian Made Percussion Cape Gun

.45 caliber/16 Gauge full choke, 32" wedge retained barrels, no S/N. Damascus patterned browned barrels, color casehardened locks and breeches, German silver patchbox and escutcheons, blued steel furniture, straight gripped walnut stock with checkered wrist and smooth forend. Unmarked externally, Liege proof marks under barrels. Barrels with solid rib and silver bands at breeches. Dovetailed notch rear sight and dovetailed front sight blade. Back action percussion locks lightly engraved with simple foliate motifs, with the breech tang engraved en-suite. Butt plate, triggerguard and entry pipe engraved with more detailed foliate scrolls. Engraved German silver patchbox in obverse butt with oval escutcheon in toe line of stock. Includes a brass tipped wooden ramrod with a concealed ball puller on the reverse end.


Fine. Barrels retain much of their brown and Damascus patterning. Locks and breech tang with traces of case color. Engraving remains clear and crisp. Gun remains crisp overall, with sharp lines and edges. Mechanically functional locks, bores both fine and bright with some dirt and dust in the last couple of inches near the muzzle. Stock with some old applied varnish over some of the wood and showing scattered bumps dings and mars.
