Colt 1851 Navy 4th Model

.36 caliber. 7.5" octagonal barrel length. SN: 204065 (mfg. ca1868). Single-action percussion revolver with fixed 6-shot cylinder, 3-screw frame, spur hammer, fixed conical front sight, and loading lever. Blued metal finish, case hardened frame, silver plated brass trigger guard and grip straps, with smooth varnished one-piece walnut grip. Features one-line New York address, and scene engravings of Texas-Mexico naval battle to cylinder. Serial numbers are all matching throughout, including arbor and wedge with an unnumbered loading lever. 

Condition:

Good. Bore is frosty and has some evidence of pitting and oxidation. Finish has pitting and surface oxidation overall on barrel, frame. Traces of silver are present on the brass. Rich patina is developing on edges of barrel and to cylinder. Cylinder shows several strike marks. Grips show several bites and have light scratches overall. Needs mechanical attention as cylinder does not always rotate, suggesting a weak or damaged hand spring.
