**Colt 1911
.45 ACP. 5" barrel length. SN: 45206. Single-action semi-automatic pistol with removable 7-shot magazine, exposed spur hammer, fixed notch and half moon sights, and grip safety. Blued military finish to slide with parkerized finish to frame, and checkered walnut grips. Features a two-tone magazine, military lanyard ring, and checkering to hammer, thumb safety, slide lock, and magazine release. Markings include standard manufacturer address and patent dates to left of slide, "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" and Major Walter G. Penfield (WGP in circle) marks to left of frame. To right of slide is model name, with serial number marked to right of frame. Item does not appear to have matching parts. It does not have original WWI-style double diamond grips, stepped thumb safety, or WWI-style HP marked barrel. Instead it has a shortened hammer, graduated thumb safety, and WWII-style checkered walnut grips. This specimen was manufactured sometime in 1913. Includes Colt factory letter.
Condition:
Good. Bore is frosty and rifling is good. Item has pit marks and mild losses to blued finish of slide overall. Frame shows some wear, but it is mostly small scratches with some losses to parkerized finish on raised surface edges. Wood grips are in good condition.
