.45 ACP. 5" barrel length. SN: 92522. Single-action semi-automatic pistol with lanyard bottomed 7-shot magazine, military lanyard ring to mainspring housing, exposed hammer, short grip safety, and fixed u-notch and half moon sights. Blued military metal finish with checkered double diamond walnut grips. Features checkering to long spur hammer, stepped thumb safety, slide lock, and magazine release. Markings include standard two-line manufacturer patent dates and Hartford address to left of slide, followed by a rampant Colt mark to rear. Left side of frame has "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" mark and a Major. Walter G. Penfield (WGP in circle) proof behind trigger guard cutaway. Marked to right side of slide is the model name, and serial number is marked to frame above trigger guard. This specimen does not have an (HP) marked barrel, but it was manufactured sometime in 1914.
Very good. Bore is bright and rifling is sharp. Finish has losses to top of barrel and raised edges, with thinning to finish on front of frame and grip straps. Wood grips are in good condition.
