** Colt 1911

.45 ACP. 5" barrel length. SN: 34592. Single-action semi-automatic pistol with removable 7-shot magazine, exposed hammer, military lanyard ring, short grip safety, and fixed u-notch and blade front sight. Blued metal finish with checkered double diamond walnut grips. Features checkering to short spur hammer, stepped thumb safety, slide lock, and magazine release. Markings include standard two-line manufacturer patent dates ending at 1911, and Hartford address followed by a rampant Colt mark to rear on left side slide. To left of frame there are "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" and Major Walter G. Penfield (WGP in circle) marks. Barrel is marked with separated (HP) proof. Right side of slide shows model name, and serial number is stamped to right side of frame above trigger guard. This specimen was manufactured sometime in early 1913.

Very good. Bore is immaculate and rifling is sharp. Finish shows losses to top of slide, muzzle, and underneath of frame. Small gathering of pitting or surface oxidation in scattered areas of frame overall. Good example of an early Colt 1911.
