Two-tone parkerized metal finish with checkered brown plastic grips. Features checkering to hammer, graduated thumb safety, and shortened trigger, with a grooved slide lock and back strap. Markings include rampant Colt surrounded by standard two-line Hartford address and Colt patent dates to left of slide. To left of frame is Brigadier General Guy H. Drewry (G.H.D) proof and (P) proof behind trigger guard cutaway. To right side of frame behind grip is a partially visible Ordnance Department inspection (Crossed cannons) mark. According to serial number dating, this specimen is a late-WWII production and was manufactured sometime around April of 1945.
Very good. Bore is frosty and rifling is sharp. Finish has some minor losses near muzzle and to raised surface edges of slide. Plastic grips are in great condition.
