.45 ACP. 5" barrel length. SN: 785746. Single-action semi-automatic pistol with removable 7-shot magazine, exposed hammer, military lanyard ring, long grip safety, and fixed u-notch and half moon sights. Parkerized metal finish with checkered brown plastic grips. Features checkering to short spur hammer, arched mainspring housing, graduated thumb safety, slide lock, magazine release, and shortened trigger. Markings to left side of slide include standard two-line manufacturer patent dates and Hartford address surrounding a rampant Colt stamp. To left side of frame is a Colonel Waldemar S. Broberg (W.B. in square) proof and (P) proof, both behind trigger cutaway. Right side of frame shows model name, serial number, and "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" marks. This model Colt 1911A1 was produced sometime in 1942.
Very good. Bore is frosty and shows some evidence of pitting to rifling near breech. Finish is in good condition with only minor losses toward muzzle. There is a faint patina developing to top of slide and to front strap.
