Colt Model 1861 Navy Revolver

.36 caliber, 7.5" barrel, S/N 1433 / 2 (mfg. ca1861). Blued and color casehardened finish, brass backstrap and triggerguard, one-piece smooth walnut grips. Matching serial numbers on all visible parts and wedge, grips numbered in ink but illegible. One-line New York barrel address, naval engagement cylinder roll scene, German silver blade front sight. "2" under serial number suggests this may have been one of a pair of revolvers. Includes a reproduction Philadelphia Navy Yard marked leather frog.

Condition:

Good. Retains no finish with a mottled and oxidized grayish brown patina with scattered light pitting, a legible barrel address and a partially visible cylinder scene. Mechanically functional, moderately pitted bore, wedge screw replaced. Grips with wear, rounding to the sharp edges and scattered dings. Frog fine showing minor wear.
