Colt Model 1877 Lightning with Holster
.38 Colt caliber. 3.5" barrel length. SN: 99038. Double-action revolver with fluted cylinder, 4-screw frame, fixed notch and half moon sights, and it is without cartridge ejector. Nickel plated finish to frame with a brilliant blued finish to hardware, trigger, and spur hammer. Item also has checkered hard rubber grips with rampant Colt logo to both grips. Has standard manufacturer marks to barrel and frame, with serial number marks to butt of grip and bottom of frame. This item was manufactured sometime in 1895. Includes black leather holster.
Condition:
Good. Bore is frosty and shows residue to rifling. Cartridge chambers are clean, with some light residue that will easily clean up. Patina to backstrap. Nearly half of finish to barrel has worn or flaked away. There are also losses to finish on cylinder, gate, top strap, hammer, grips, and trigger guard. Light pitting is evident to frame overall. Checkering to right side grip is worn smooth toward bottom of grip.
