**Colt Model 1911A1 Pre-WWII Argentine Contract

.45 ACP. 5" barrel length. SN: C172282. Single-action semi-automatic pistol with removable 7-shot magazine, exposed spur hammer, grip safety, and fixed notch and half moon sights. Nickel plated metal finish with grooved walnut grips. Features checkering to shortened trigger, arched mainspring housing, graduated thumb safety, and slide lock. Has standard Colt manufacturer address, patent dates, model name, and serial number to slide and frame. Also features "POLICIA DE LA CAPITAL" to left side of slide and a rack number "No. 6307" to top of slide. Indicating this was a commercial model 1911A1 produced for the Argentine Police. Trigger guard also has marks including Colt verified proof (VP), a "3" to left of trigger guard, and "99" to right side of trigger guard. These pre-WWII commercial models were manufactured between 1925-1942. This specimen dates to 1933. 


Fair to good. Bore is frosty and rifling has some residue. Most of finish shows pitting, scratches, and a mottled dark discoloration overall. Wood grips are in good condition. Some oxidation under grips.
