.41 Colt. 4.75" barrel length. SN: 172303. Single-action revolver with fixed fluted 6-shot cylinder, horizontal cylinder latch, 3-screw frame, and notch and blade sights. Blued metal finish and checkered hard rubber grips with rampant Colt reliefs to both sides. Has standard two-line Hartford address to top of barrel. Knurled hammer with border and underline checkering. Both grips have "JT2406" etched to backsides. This model S.A.A. was manufactured in 1897 during the black-to-white powder cartridge transitions.
Condition:
Good. Bore is frosty and has some residue, moderate oxidation to rifling. Cartridge chambers also have residue. Most of finish has worn away and what remains is a gray patina, pit marks, and scratches overall with some oxidation to front sight. Grips show wear and dullness to checkering. Left side grip has a 1" crack that extends from toe of front strap up toward grip screw. Lock up is tight.
