** Colt US Model 1902 Philippine Constabulary Revolver
.45 Colt. 5.8125" barrel length. SN: 47905. Blued finish, checkered hard rubber Rampant Colt logo grips. Oversized triggerguard with longer, curved trigger, unique to this model. Left side of barrel roll marked "45 COLT" with small Rampant Colt logo on lower left of frame at grip juncture. Standard one-line Colt address barrel roll mark. Forward left web of triggerguard marked with small block letter "R.A.C." (Rinaldo A Carr) inspection and a small block "J.T.T." (John T Thompson) inspection is present on the obverse of the frame above grip. Lower right side of frame marked "1902" forward of grip, with deeply struck "U.S." on right of frame above forward triggerguard web. Lanyard ring in butt. 5,000 of these revolvers were ordered for use by the Philippine Constabulary with slightly less than that supposedly delivered. A fine condition example of the last of the US martial .45 Colt revolvers.
Condition:
Fine. Retains most of the blue with some thinning and fading with expected high edge wear and some light surface scratches. Markings all remain clear and crisp. Trigger with much of its bright fire blue remaining. Mechanically functional, fine bore with some scattered oxidation. Grips fine with some light handling marks, crisp checkering and free of any breaks or cracks.
