CS-marked M1832 Foot Artillery Sword
19" blade length. 24.5" overall length. Double-edged short sword with spearpoint blade, single fuller to both sides, and a brass hilt. Hilt features a 4" crossguard with "CS" cast-reliefs to quillons of both sides, diagonal grooved handle, and round pommel with {star} impressions to both sides. Item does not appear to have any manufacturer, regimental, or individual marks.
Condition:
Fair to good. Blade is a mottled grey-brown color and has visible pitting and some surface oxidation overall. Brass hilt shows some signs of wear and darkening to handle, grooves, and crossguard. Blade to hilt fit has some wiggle room. There are minor bites to both sides of blade.
