**Early Commercial Colt 1911

.45 ACP. 5" barrel length. SN: C3157. Single-action semi-automatic pistol with removable 7-shot magazine, arched mainspring housing, military lanyard ring, long grip safety, and fixed u-notch and ramp sights. Blued metal finish with checkered walnut grips. Features checkering to short spur hammer, shortened trigger, and graduated thumb safety. Item also has grooving to arched mainspring housing, magazine release, and slide lock. Markings are mostly dull and illegible where standard two-line manufacturer patent dates and address are marked to left of slide. On right, "COLT AUTOMATIC CALIBER .45" is nearly obliterated. Serial number and model name are marked to right side of frame. According to the serial number, this model was manufactured sometime in 1913.

Good. Bore is bright and rifling is sharp. Most of metal finish has worn away or is very thin overall. Could have possibly been reblued or buffed at one point. Letter markings to metal are worn down and nearly obliterated in most spots. Grips do not appear to be original and are flared away from strap on both sides near bottom.

Estimate: $500 - $800
