**Fine Early 1943 Production Springfield M1 Garand

.30-06, 24" barrel, S/N 1507874. Parkerized finish, smooth walnut stock. Rear of receiver marked in four lines: U.S. RIFLE / CAL. .30 M1 / SPRINGFIELD / ARMORY over serial number. Barrel marked 3-S-A-3-43. Stock with crisp boxed S.A. / EMcE cartouche and crisp {Ordnance Wheel} on counterpane and with clear {Circle-P} behind triggerguard. Receiver serial number and barrel date match for a March of 1943 produced rifle with correct cartouche for this serial number range. Battle bar rear sight, 12SA bolt, 12SA trigger group, un-cut 6SA operating rod. Throat erosion 1, muzzle erosion 2. Includes a US M1905 leather sling and the combination tool in the butt. A really wonderful example of a mid-war M1 Garand that appears to be completely correct and in a fine state of preservation.

Very fine. Retains most of the finish with some light wear, all marks clear and crisp. Mechanically functional, fine bright bore. Stock with some scattered light handling marks and the initials RB lightly scratched into the lower obverse butt. Sling worn with some small tears to the leather.
