.32-40, 26" octagon to round barrel with half-magazine, S/N 172290. Blued and color casehardened finish, smooth walnut stock with shotgun butt and checkered Marlin hard rubber buttplate. Tang marked MODEL 1893, barrel marked SPECIAL SMOKELESS STEEL along with caliber marking and standard Marling two-line address and patent markings. Elevation adjustable buckhorn rear sight, dovetailed white bead Lyman front sight blade and Lyman tang mounted peep sight.
Very good. Barrel retains some nice thinning blue with clear markings and crisp edges. Receiver with some muted traces of case color and otherwise a mottled gray and brown patina. Mechanically functional, very good bore is mostly bright with strong rifling and some scattered oxidation. Stock very good with some light handling marks and minor mars.
