Martially Marked Savage Navy Revolver

.36 caliber. 7" barrel. SN: 12618. Blued finish, smooth walnut grips. Standard three-line address and patent marking on top strap. US military single letter sub-inspection marks on most components. Weak, illegible cartouche on left grip. Roughly 20,000 of these interesting "trigger cocking" gas seal revolvers were produced during the first half of the 1860s with 11,984 being purchased by the US military. This is one of those revolvers.

Good. Retains no finish with a lightly oxidized gray patina. Markings in metal remain clear, cartouche weak. Mechanically functional, good bore with moderate pitting. Grips lightly sanded with bumps, dings and mars.
