9mm Parabellum. 3.75" barrel length. SN: 988b. Single action pistol with an aluminum knob magazine and fixed notch and blade sights. Blued military finish with an ejector that appears to be strawed, and checkered walnut grips. Markings include two "{Eagle/655}" marks to right of slide, followed by "{Eagle/Swastika}" marks to right of slide and barrel. Rear toggle is marked "42" and front of receiver is marked "1940". Two links on center toggle have partial serial numbers. Left side of slide features partial serial number marks to small parts. Front of frame is marked with full serial number. Aluminum knob magazine is also marked to bottom "988/b/+/{Eagle/655}". Safety marked "GESICHERT". Magazine, small parts, slide, and frame all appear to have matching serial numbers.
Condition:
Very good. Bore is partially frosted and has some evidence of pitting. Finish is good overall, but there appear to be some light pit marks and losses scattered overall. Markings on this item appear weak or smoothed over. Item possibly refinished, but was done well if so. Strawed ejector.
