Model 1894 mitre helmet of the First Foot Guards, First and Second Battalions, with matte silver plate front with Frederick the Great eagle and cypher with motto “Semper Talis” ( English translation “Always Faithful”). Grenade displays on back and sides of metal headband. Red cloth “bag” seamed with officer’s pattern silver braiding. Silver plated pompom (puschel/”nationale”) of pear-shaped officer’s pattern. Nickel silver, leather-lined, flat scaled chinstraps of 1894 lug pattern. No cockades were worn. Includes hand painted figure depicting full uniform.
Leather sweatband, no head liner. Heavy officer’s silver plating with some polish residue. Pompom possible replacement. One tiny moth hole at peak rear of “bag”. Very good officer’s specimen, in hard to find condition.
