** RARE Special Order Walther HP "Heeres Pistole" 7.65mm

 7.65mm caliber. 4.75" barrel length. SN: 3 to frame, 2081 to barrel, and 3011 to slide. Rare special order Walther HP that is composed of early 7.65mm HP and P.38 parts. This specimen is only 1 of 6 known to exist from all 1942-1945 Walther productions. It was purchased from the collection of esteemed author and P.38 expert William Buxton. Buxton featured this item on page 136 of his book The P.38 Pistol. Item has a high polish blued finish to slide and barrel with white accented slide markings. Frame has a dull military blue finish with white accented markings, and grooved black Bakelite grips. Features a double action trigger, military lanyard ring, and fixed notch and blade sights. Markings include "3" and an "{Eagle/359}" mark both to left side of frame above trigger guard. Right side of item features "{Eagle/N}" marks to both slide and frame. Barrel is marked "2081" to front, and slide is marked "3011" to internal ridge. Left side of slide features a Walther logo banner, followed by two-line patent markings, which is then followed by the "Mod. HP" mark. 

Provenance:From the Collection of Scott Sanders, previously owned by author and P.38 expert William Buxton. Buxton included this specimen in his seminal text "The P.38 Pistol".


Good to very good. Mixed serial numbers. Bore is bright. Finish to slide has some thinning to sides and top. Slide also has a light peppering of faint pit marks and small spot of surface oxidation to right side. Frame shows crude machine marks, as well as a slight red-brown patina to military blued finish. Frontstrap has some flaking to finish. Grips are in good condition with some light scratching scattered overall.
