.30-06. 24" barrel length. SN: 3544087. Parkerized finish with a smooth walnut stock. Rear of receiver marked in four lines: "U.S. RIFLE / CAL. .30 M1 / SPRINGFIELD / ARMORY" over serial number. Barrel marked "3-S-A-3-45". Stock with clear boxed "S.A. / NFR" cartouche of General Norman F Ramsey and clear "{Ordnance Wheel}" on counterpane and with "{Circle-P}" inspection in face of pistol grip. Receiver serial number and barrel date match for a March of 1945 produced rifle with correct cartouche for this serial number range. Battle bar rear sight, 19SA bolt, 12SA trigger group, un-cut 9SA operating rod. Throat erosion 1, muzzle erosion 1.5. Includes an M1 Carbine oiler in the butt. A really wonderful example of late-war M1 Garand that appears to be completely correct and in a very nice state of preservation.
Condition:
Fine. Retains nearly all of the Parkerized finish with clear markings in metal, markings in wood slightly softer. Mechanically functional, fine, bright bore. Stock with scattered bumps, dings and mars from handling and storage, but a rifle that shows little use overall.
