**U.S. Springfield Model 1903

.30-06 SPRG caliber. 24" barrel. SN: 878283. Bolt-action rifle with internal 5-shot magazine, sling swivels, bayonet lug, and adjustable tangent and fixed blade sights. Dull blued military finish, parkerized barrel, and a plain semi-pistol grip stock. Markings include "U.S./SPRINGFIELD/ARMORY/MODEL 1903" to front of breech, "B" to floorplate, and High Standard (H-S/Flaming bomb/10-44) marks toward muzzle. Cartouche marks include what appears to be a rack number "6937" to left of butt, what appears to be a "P" or "R" to underside of butt, as well as a "G" and what appears to be an arrow. Barrel markings indicate that this item was re-barreled in October 1944, but there are no arsenal rework marks. Originally manufactured in 1918.

Very good to excellent. Bore is minty and rifling is sharp. Finish has some thinned areas on front of breech, few defects otherwise. Wood stock has some minor dings and wear, but is in great condition overall. There is excess grease buildup to rear of bolt-action.
